Environmental Planning and Monitoring

Westland provides environmental services for construction projects during pre-planning, construction, and post-work phases from Haida Gwaii to Dawson Creek/Hartley Bay to the BC -Yukon border.

Environmental Assessments

Westland professional biologists and technicians have over 50 years of combined experience in environmental assessments, fish culture, juvenile and adult fish stock assessments in marine, estuarine, and freshwater environments.

Fish & Wildlife Survey/Salvage

Westland has completed extensive environmental work in areas requiring fish and wildlife salvage and assessment including Hydro, Gas, and Highway construction and maintenance projects.

Environmental Legislation

Westland’s RPBios, RBTech, BITs and EPs serve as expert witnesses for fish and fish habitat cases throughout northern British Columbia and have extensive knowledge of all current federal and provincial environmental legislation.

Environmental Stewardship

Westland has over 10 years of coordinating Lakelse Watershed stewardship activities, building partnerships with all government, First Nations, and volunteer groups to initiate and complete projects for the restoration and protection of the watershed.

Erosion and Sediment Control

Our professionals have experience with erosion and sediment control planning and implementation.

 

Safety Program

Westland field biologists and aquatic technicians have valid First Aid (Levels 1 & 3), swiftwater rescue (SRT1) certification, electrofishing certification (crew supervisor), WHMIS, bear aware and avalanche safety training. Westland is SAFE and COR certified.
